Product Information

Products Offered: Standard range of four celebration cakes in 3 different sizes, 6 flavours of mini travel cakes, 4 flavours of cookies, bespoke cakes, bespoke patisserie.

Customization Options: Bespoke options for decorations and flavours are available on request. For set celebration cakes, customers can request a piped message in chocolate such as ‘Happy Birthday’ or ‘Congratulations’ at an extra charge of £5.

Seasonal Items: Seasonal and limited-edition items will be offered at the discretion of the owner.

Pricing and Payments

Pricing Display: Prices are listed in GBP and include VAT.

Accepted Payments: Credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard), PayPal, and bank transfers.

Orders and Delivery

Order Processing: Mini travel cakes and cookies are finished, packed and sent on the next working day after your order date. E.g. If you order on a Monday, the order will be finished and sent on the Tuesday. Orders for these items received on weekends will be processed and shipped on the following Monday. Set cakes available on the website require a minimum of 72 hours' notice and will be confirmed by email. Bespoke cakes require a minimum of 10 days' notice as flavours and decorations must be confirmed in advance. Detailed design and flavour preferences must be finalised at least 7 days before the delivery date to ensure timely production.

Minimum Order Requirements: No minimum order for standard items. Custom cakes start at the same price as the set cakes on the website, with additional charges applicable for intricate or complicated designs, special ingredients or decorations.

Delivery and Shipping

Delivery Areas and Options: Local delivery available dependent on postcode. Set prices are determined by postcode and will be displayed on checkout. For delivery outside of the areas accepted on website, please contact for a quote.

Nationwide shipping with Royal Mail tracked 24 is available for cookies and mini travel cakes.

Delivery Times and Costs: Local delivery as per the chosen delivery date. Costs are charged at £0.50 per mile outside specified postcodes. Nationwide shipping starts at £4.00 and aims to deliver within 24 hours from dispatch, subject to the Royal Mail network.

Order Changes and Cancellations

Change Policy: For bespoke orders, changes must be requested 7 days prior to the delivery date. Depending on the significance of the change, additional charges may apply, and changed cannot be guaranteed if requested within 7 days of delivery date.

Cancellation Policy for standard cakes: Cancellations made up to 72 hours prior to delivery date are eligible for 50% refund. Cancellations after this time are non refundable.

Cancellation Policy for Bespoke Cakes/Patisserie: Due to the bespoke ordering and process involved in custom products, the initial 50% deposit taken to secure a date is non refundable. The second payment is due 7 days before the bespoke items are due to be delivered. Items cancelled up to 7 days before the event are not charged for the remaining 50%. Cancellations made between 7 days and 72 hours prior to delivery date are eligible for 50% refund where the full balance has been paid. Any cancellations after 72 hours to delivery date are entirely non refundable.

Returns and Refunds

Returns and Refunds: Due to the perishable nature of the products, refunds are not offered unless incorrect or defective items are received and reported within 24 hours of delivery. Alix Rue Patisserie holds sole responsibility for deeming if the item is incorrect or defective, and photographic evidence must be provided. Returns are not accepted due to the perishable nature of the products.

Refunds are not available for aesthetic preferences,  minor design deviations or you simply dislike an item.

Design and Aesthetic regarding custom cakes and patisserie

Design Approval: Customers will receive a design sketch or description for approval at least 7 days before the delivery date. Approval must be provided in writing (by email/text/whatsapp) within 48 hours. Any requested changes after this period may not be possible or may incur additional charges.

Artistic License: Whilst every effort will be made to match the agreed design, slight variations may occur due to the handmade nature of custom cakes and patisserie. Alix Rue Patisserie reserves the right to make minor adjustments if necessary.

Delivery and Collection: Custom cakes will be delivered on the specified date. Customers must provide a precise delivery address and instructions including name and contact number for a person designated for receiving the items. Alix Rue Patisserie is not liable for issues arising from incorrect or incomplete delivery information.

Customer Responsibility: Once delivered, customers are responsible for proper storage and handling of custom cakes. Detailed instructions will be provided, and Alix Rue Patisserie is not liable for damage due to improper handling or storage conditions.
